Preparing to own
When it comes to getting ready to purchase a home, there are many - MANY - things to consider. Finances, location, amenities, and what features are essentials just to name a few. Here are a few key items that, in our opinion, pave the way for a successful purchase of a new property.
Start with Me
In real estate, we have the opportunity to work with many different businesses, vendors, real estate professionals, home improvement personnel, and loads of other businesses that we can't begin to try and name. By contacting us when you are beginning your preparations, we are able help you understand what steps you may want to take to maximize your experience and help you understand your financial obligations in purchasing a home prior to finding THE ONE. Additionally, if you have a home that needs to be sold, we can provide you with a market analysis of your homes current value, provide recommendations on how to maximize the sale, and help you come up with a realistic and strategic plan on how to bring your current home to the market and into your next home with the greatest ease possible.
Money Talks
Meeting with a lender as you are considering purchasing can be a lifesaver when it comes to your financial position when buying a home. Your lender can tell you what you are currently qualified for, help you understand the loan costs that you can expect when purchasing a home such as your monthly payment and down payment, and review loan programs that you should be considering and grant funds that are available at the time. They can also provide resources on what you need to do, if anything, to maximize your funds and credit situation as you move forward. Something we don't just encourage, but insist upon, is having a pre-approval from a lender prior to showing homes. In today's market sellers look at this as an expectation with offers received and many homes enter into contracts on the first day of listing. This document verifies that you are financially prepared to be offering to purchase the home and a lender has verified that claim.
Dream Big Dreams
Now is the time to reflect on things like location, amenities, home style, and so much more. Knowing your purchase power and having consumer confidence makes things go smoothly throughout the transaction process. If this is your first time buying, I recommend sitting down and discussing with the people you know and love that are homeowners what they think is important when purchasing a home, also, what they wished they would have known to go into buying a home. As Realtors, we provide a wealth of knowledge and work hard to make sure you understand the impact of your decisions. That being said, nothing can compare to the advice of a trusted friend or family member.
We believe in the value of home ownership not only as a financial tool for wealth but as an accomplishment of a lifetime. Having a space that brings peace and happiness to you and the ones you love is what HOME is all about and we love that our jobs can help bring that to people.
