Spring cleaning 101
Spring has sprung and if you are like me, the cleaning itch has now begun. I'm no Marie Kondo but a good thorough cleaning of my space always makes me feel fresh and ready to take on the world. Here are a few things to keep top of mind as you begin your yearly cleansing ritual.
Make A Plan
As with all things, scheduling out how you are going to accomplish your goals is the first step in the right direction. Thinking through what areas of your home are in the most need of a true deep clean and planning for success is the way to begin. This can be bathrooms, kitchen, pantry, walls, floorboards, garage, you name it. Prepare not only time but needed materials so there is nothing standing in your way of accomplishing your "To Do" top 10.
De-Clutter
Ridding your life of the things that are not necessary is such an essential part of being ready to accept the new and wonderful things the year has in store for you! Take some time to clear out closets, pantry and kitchen, and any furniture that no longer serves purpose in your life. You will feel better for it and you would be amazed at the impact simply de-cluttering makes on your overall well-being.
Top to Bottom
Know your process. Cleaning can be a therapeutic thing for people.... I know..... strange.... but for those people, I imagine that it's because it's a very specific process to them and they enjoy checking lists off. If you are like me, it takes a minute to get in the groove. I always like to work top to bottom (walls, windows, and floorboards) then outside in (dusting, counters, furniture, then floor) but how you like to see things done is your jam. Knowing how you like to work is half the battle.
Enjoy and Happy Spring Cleaning!
