The chill is turning into frost and cozy nights with the people you love are soon upon us. Before you settle in for the winter, make sure you take the time to fully prepare your home for what is shaping up to be a long winter. 

• Unhook hoses and drain all water lines including sprinklers. 

• Clean out rain gutters and downspouts.

• Rake and dispose of leaves and potential debris that could clog water drainage. 

• Check windows and doors and add caulk and weather stripping to windows and doors. 

• Replace your furnace filter and clean ventilation systems. 

• Seal decking. 

• Buy a snow shovel and any other supplies needed before messy weather hits. 

• Do a quick roof inspection to check for loose shingles and loose gutters. 

• Have chimneys cleaned and test fireplaces to ensure they are in safe and working condition. 

• Also, don't forget to winterize your toys like boats and RV's.
