5 Ways to make your home more eco-friendly
It's safe to say that most of us take some time to reflect around this time of year on the accomplishments behind us and make goals around what we would like to achieve in the year ahead. As you set your resolutions, making waste and/or energy-reducing choices in your home is an environmentally friendly way you can make a positive impact. Here are a few easy ways you can reduce waste, save energy, and improve the eco-friendly status of your home.
Replace the use of single-use paper towels and napkins with microfiber cleaning towels and cloth napkins.
Use reusable shopping bags for grocery trips and avoid single-use plastic bags. Linked here are our favorite heavy-duty, reusable shopping bags.
Keep a reusable water bottle and coffee mug on hand for your everyday routine.
Wash your clothes in cold water. Roughly 75% of the energy required to run a load of wash goes into heating the water - best results achieved with liquid detergent.
Have a recycling bin and educate your home on what can and can't be recycled. For more info on how waste management handles recycling here in Utah, click here.
Cheers to you and yours as we ring in a new year, a new decade, and all of the wonderful new adventures that await us in 2020 and beyond.
